The ManKind Project has differing types of groups or events available for men with no experience of sitting in a men’s group or circle to those men who have done some experiential process work or a processes of initiation.

Open Night

An Open Night is a scheduled event and open to anyone, men and women. This is where men can hear about what the Mankind Project is and does and what is men’s work as well as joining in with a group of people at an event. Open Nights can vary to be any type of event for instance circles, film nights, campfires and picnics. All our Celebration homecomings of men who have done the New Warrior Training Adventure are Open Nights.

Open Circle

An Open Circle is a scheduled event, and open to any man. It has its own flow and protocol. These events are normally hosted as introductions to the ManKind Project and the New Warrior Training Adventure, or as an introduction evening to a regular Open Group. This is an opportunity for men to safely go within and discover and explore the presence of their inner voice. They can experience a healthy and safe environment by sitting in circle with men who can model vulnerability and openness in a loving way. This type of circle presents an opportunity to invite a man to the NWTA or to commit to an Open Group.

Open Group

An Open Men’s Group is a regularly scheduled peer-support group for men, facilitated by a man with experience in leading men’s groups; These are open to any man and are usually set to a committed period of time like a midweek evening every fortnight for an attendance period of 3 months. These events are designed to give each man an experience of men's work and to be as accessible as possible to men who have not done personal development work in the past.

Open I-Group

An Open I-Group is an I-Group that invites any men who have not attended the NWTA to sit with them, where the usually closed I-Group is open to any man for that event. The groups follows traditional I-Group structure and rounds to the evening or afternoon which differ in structure to those found in Open Circles and Open Groups. New men can experience first-hand what an I-Group feels like. They can experience men in a new way, seeing their vulnerability and their ability to look at personal issues in a positive way and being challenged and held accountable to other supportive men. It is important that the men of the I-Group are prepared and available to answer questions and guide visitors in these process. See the video for interviews with MKP men from USA I-groups on the benefits of an holding an Open I-Group.

I-Group

The I in I-Group stands for Integration, which is about integrating what was learned on the New Warrior Training Adventure and possibly also the associated Primary Integration Training taken after the weekend. Integration groups are a place for men to support and challenge one another, and to practice deepening self-awareness and commitment to our accountability, integrity, authenticity, and emotional literacy. These groups usually are restricted to men who have done the Weekend Adventure but some groups may change their agreements on admission. It is their group and their agreements.
