Calling all MKP men to attend National Coalition-Building Institute (NCBI) one-day workshop on Identity, Difference & Unconscious Bias.
We welcome MKP men and partners or significant others to come together with multi-identity members of the public. This is happening on Saturday 25th January 2020, from 9.00 to 5.00pm at Haven Green, Ealing, W5 2UP.
This workshop is about strengthening our communities and our relationships. It promises to be insightful for both MKP men and their partners. At the workshop we get to hear and share experiences that take us way beyond our normal bridge-building/unifying conversations. We get to take further steps to align with parts of our respective mission to build a safer, more compassionate world today and for generations to come.
In this workshop, led by MKP Trustee Royston John, NCBI Chief Executive since 2002, we will be working through important questions together such as "Who are we? What are our different experiences? How are we complicit in our experiences and the experiences of others?"
This truly fantastic opportunity is being offered to MKP men and their significant others or partners booking through MKP website can take advantage of a significantly discounted price of £35 per person, made possible by MKP UK&I.
And, that price includes a cooked meal!! The hall has limited capacity so book early to be sure of your place!
We intend this to be the first of several D&I workshops run across UK and Ireland during 2020/21.
The format of the day will be a fully interactive workshop utilising a series of exercises to explore our connections. This includes working in pairs and within small groups. NCBI approach is around the mental models for diversity and inclusiveness. The fact that you may have attended previously, does not prevent a person attending again. The idea of looking at such mental models with a partner in the space and with others whose experiences are outside your usual identity groupings, could only serve to make us all stronger.
“Having been to several different NCBI workshops, I know the personal value it has generated for me each time”, says Diarmaid Fitzpatrick.
